Commonly used for diagnosis of dry eye syndrome, these strips work by staining the cornea blue upon instillation. This causes a "speckling" of the cornea, providing immediate indication of any dry patches, as well as muco-deficient or damaged corneal cells. Does not sting the eye like Rose Bengal. A white or blue light may be used on the slit lamp during detection. |
